Verizon Wireless has been adding several devices this summer, and they are getting a new affordable device from HTC. The Desire 526 is set to be an affordable smartphone that will deliver a premium experience. No word on when it will be landing or exact pricing has been announced yet, but we do have the specifications and features of the device.
For starters, the HTC Desire 526 looks similar to the original HTC One series of devices, but that is just what I am seeing. The 526 has a 4.7-inch qHD display and comes in one color, which is Stealth Black. It will get speed from Verizon’s lighting fast 4G LTE network, but it’s software experience is being powered by a 1.1GHz quad core Snapdragon processor with 1.5GB of RAM. You will find around 8GB of storage internally, but you can expand it via a micro SD card slot.
It’s software experience is Android 5.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 running on top. You will get choose from HTC’s many themes, plus you get the latest version of HTC Blinked. The Desire 526 is powered by a 2000mAh battery as well. For photography, you will find an 8 megapixel camera on the back that can record video in 720pHD. For selfies and Snapchats, you get a 2 megapixel lens on the front.
It seems that the HTC Desire 526 on Verizon Wireless will be a nice entry-level affordable smartphone, that does come with some nice features. It would have been nice to see BoomSound and a faster processor included in the 626 though. Verizon Wireless will hopefully announced pricing and availability in the coming weeks for the HTC Desire 526.
