March 11th 2016 will not just be known as a Friday, but it was the launch day of Samsung’s latest and greatest. Specifically, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are now officially available. Along with other carriers, Verizon stores opened nationwide and began in store sales of the devices.

While pre-orders kicked off earlier this month, the S7 and S7 Edge were allowed to be sold in store today. Along with offering the devices in store, Verizon customers walk out of the store with a full setup. Along with having their new S7 or S7 Edge on Verizon’s lighting fast and reliable 4G LTE network, the carrier also had some great promos.

One offering, would be that up until March 18th when you get a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge you can get a free Gear VR and Oculus bundle. Verizon will also give you $100 off Gear S2 with a new 2-year activation when your purchase the latest flagships from Samsung.

Along with offering deals just for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, Verizon has launched some new offers as well. When you trade in an older FitBit and get a new one for $99 or more, you get a $20 visa card. Or when you purchase a S7 or S7 Edge from Verizon, you can get a Galaxy Core Prime smartphone for just $1 when activated.

Andrew Testa, the Verizon PR Manager for the North East, had this to say on launch day:

We know our customers expect the best when they choose Verizon, and we’re excited to provide that experience with the nation’s largest and most reliable 4G LTE network for the incredible new Samsung  Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. A smartphone is only as good as the wireless network it’s on and in virtually every consumer and industry survey, Verizon is consistently lauded as having the nation’s best wireless network. 

Both the S7 and S7 Edge will come with 32GB of internal storage and can be expanded via a micro SD card slot. The S7 features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display, while the S7 Edge has a larger and curved 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display. They are both running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a Samsung user interface and are powered by a Quad-core 2.15GHz + 1.6GHz processor with 4GB of RAM. On the back you will find a Dual Pixel 12 megapixel with IOS cameras on the back and a 5 megapixel front camera. The Galaxy S7 has a 3,000mAh battery and the S7 Edge has a 3,600mAh battery, both will feature an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.

The Galaxy S7 on Verizon at $28 per month for 24 months or for $672 at full retail. You can get it in your choice of black onyx and gold platinum. Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge comes in at $33 per month for 24 months or $792 at full retail. The S7 Edge will come in lack onyx, gold platinum, and silver titanium. Both devices are available now from Verizon, both in store and from their online store.
