Google wants to get technology, specifically Android smartphones, into more people’s hands. But they recognize that price is a big blocker, as the device needs to be affordable and be launching on a global level for that price. Well, Google wants to help make these devices possible and Android Go is an operating system for affordable basic phones.
While they are affordable and not as feature filled, they still make the most of Android. And developers inside the technology giant have recreated versions of the most important applications. This way they can run with no as much power and they can take up less storage.
The Android Go configuration will be pre-installed on Android devices and will run if there is 1GB of RAM or less.
