Apple CEO Tim Cook is known for showing his support for causes publicly, commonly on Twitter. This afternoon he took to Twitter to voice his support for DACA and Dreamers, these are children whose parents are undocumented and who have lived in the US for quite some time.
Tim Cook stated, “250 of my Apple coworkers are #Dreamers. I stand with them. They deserve our respect as equals and a solution rooted in American values.” When he tweeted this afternoon, it came after several reports emerged that President Trump was weighing the end of DACA(Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).
This tweet also comes after signing a petition not to deport dreamers earlier this week. Tim Cook has made his opposition to many of President Trump’s policies, especially immigration, quite public. When it comes to protecting the rights of Dreamers and keeping DACA, he notes that the solution needs to be “rooted in American values.”
