Today, Verizon Wireless launched yet another great feature for Android devices and their owners. And it is a new review system that was made by Verizon’s application, device, and security teams. The reviews will tell you how the application will affect your smartphone in ways such as security, battery consumption, data usage, and user experience. The applications that are chosen to be review are the top on the Google Play Store, both free and paid, for the past 30(thirty) days. The higher the rating means the better it will your device, while a lower rating will negatively affect your device. You Can See The Current List Of The Top Rated Android Applications From Verizon, By Clicking Here. You can see the entire list, which gives you the icon for the application, the name of the application, the developer, and the overall rating. The overall rating is somewhere out of 5-Stars. If you click on an individual application it will open a separate window, which will give you a more in-depth rating and reasons why it received that rating. You can see some of the current rating, photos of the setup, and more in the gallery below. I am very excited about the Android App Reviews by Verizon service, I think it will enhance the application experience for the consumer. And it has an awesome price of being free, I cannot wait to see what Verizon has in store for us in the future.

VERIZON WIRELESS LAUNCHES MOBILE SECURITY APP FOR ANDROID™ TO HELP CUSTOMERS BEEF UP PROTECTION
Verizon Mobile Security Combined with Verizon Wireless Network Protections Deliver Superior Mobile Safeguard Technology
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – While most consumers with smartphones understand they are carrying around the functions of a computer, many do not realize that smartphones are susceptible to some of the same security and privacy threats that plague laptops and desktops. Verizon Wireless has always taken great strides to protect the security of its customers and its network using sophisticated network intrusion and data analysis tools. Today, the company expands its security protection products with the introduction of Verizon Mobile Security, an application that helps customers secure and protect Android™ smartphones against digital and physical threats.
Reaffirming Verizon Wireless’ commitment to robust security, Verizon Mobile Security helps customers protect their devices from digital threats and equips customers with the power to remotely locate, alarm, lock and even wipe data from a misplaced or lost device. Verizon Mobile Security, available on Android smartphones running Android 2.1 or higher, combines the security capabilities of Asurion and McAfee.
In today’s information technology society, smartphone customers expect a high level of security and protection. Malware can invade a smartphone when a consumer unknowingly clicks a malicious link in a text message or email, surfs a risky website, or downloads and uses a potentially unsafe app on their device. Once the device is infected, malware can collect and send data from the device, such as location information, personal information and login credentials, to untrusted third parties. According to the “McAfee Threats Report: Second Quarter 2012,” approximately 13,000 distinct pieces of mobile malware have been discovered so far in 2012 – a significant year-over-year increase as less than 2,000 distinct pieces were found in 2011. Verizon Mobile Security delivers three valuable options to help secure and protect customers from these digital threats:
- Verizon Mobile Security Basic – Provides antivirus protection, powered by McAfee, to detect viruses and malware, and McAfee® SiteAdvisor® to identify and warn customers of suspicious websites. There is no charge to download Verizon Mobile Security Basic, but a Verizon Wireless data plan is required and data usage will apply.
- Verizon Mobile Security Premium – Includes the security features of Verizon Mobile Security Basic, as well as McAfee App Alert, which delivers information about which apps have the ability to access, store or transmit data to or from the device. Available for $1.99/month per line, Verizon Mobile Security Premium also provides recovery features from Asurion that allow customers to remotely locate, alarm, lock or wipe data from a lost or misplaced device using their My Verizon accounts.
- Verizon Mobile Security Premium with Total Equipment Coverage – Customers with Total Equipment Coverage can add Verizon Mobile Security Premium for $1/month per line. Total Equipment Coverage combines the benefits of Asurion’s Wireless Protection Plan for lost, stolen, and damaged devices, and Verizon Wireless’ Extended Warranty for mechanical or electrical defects after the manufacturer’s warranty expires.
Verizon Mobile Security can be downloaded from the Verizon Channel in Google Play on more than 30 Android smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S® III and DROID RAZR™ M by Motorola. After Verizon Mobile Security Premium is purchased, customers get the ease and convenience of direct billing to their monthly account statements. A Verizon Wireless data plan is required and data usage applies.

VERIZON Wireless INTRODUCES Viewdini: INNOVATIVE MOBILE video PORTAL TO PROVIDE QUICK AND EASY ACCESS TO CONTENT
Video from Leading Content Providers, Including Verizon FiOS, Comcast and Others, to Give Customers Choice of Entertainment on Mobile Devices
BOSTON and BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – Verizon Wireless today introduced viewdini, an innovative portal that creates a new entertainment choice for consumers by making it simple to search and view movies, television shows, and other video on mobile devices.
Viewdini leverages the power of Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network, streamlining access to videos from a wide range of content providers, including cable operators, websites and other popular video sources. Comcast Xfinity®, Hulu Plus, mSpot and Netflix are among the participants at launch, with more including Verizon FiOS expected to be added soon.
“Verizon Wireless has the network to deliver the video choices our customers want with the quality and speed customers demand,” said Dan Mead, president and CEO of Verizon Wireless. “Working with a wide range of providers, we’re giving our customers a simple and intuitive way to find shows, movies and other videos from the sources they have relationships with and discover new sources of video as well.”
Verizon Wireless made the announcement in Boston at The Cable Show 2012, the National Cable & Telecommunication Association annual conference.
Verizon Wireless’ viewdini acts as a mobile video aggregator that makes it easy for users to search thousands of titles from some of the Web’s leading content providers like Netflix, Hulu Plus, mSpot, TV sites, movie studios, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Verizon FiOS and cable operators. By simply searching for a title, topic, or star’s name, viewdini will let customers know which services have mobile video for streaming, and whether it is available at no additional charge, by subscription, to rent or for purchase. A simple click will also provide related content and information like cast and crew info and links to similar titles.
Viewdini will be available to Verizon Wireless customers with 4G LTE Android™ devices later this month, with support for other operating systems expected to be added soon. The application can be downloaded from the Google Play store, and is free to customers.

Samsung Mobile has just unveiled the Galaxy S II, they made the official announcement at their London event today. This is the sequel device to the great Galaxy S and Galaxy S II. They are calling it “the smartphone designed for humans and inspired by nature“. Now, as all of us know Samsung has put out many devices this year under the Galaxy names. Like the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Nexus, however this is the flagship device. For starters it features a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED Display, that has a resolution of 1280 X 720. So this is a screen size increase for the S II. And powering this baby will be a 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor with 1GB of RAM. This new processor was confirmed before the S III was announced today. So, this will be a quite a fast device, and the benchmarks have proven that Quad-Core is fast. However, the Exynos doesn’t always play friendly with LTE. So, we will have to wait and see if the US version will have a Quad-Core chip in it. As we all know the HTC One X had an amazing camera and they were beating out Samsung for the time being. Well, on the back of the Galaxy S III there is an 8 mega-pixel camera. It features zero-shutter lag, which will let you get the photo you want very quickly. You can also record video in 1080pHD, so it does compare to that of the One X. However, until we get to play around with it, we are not sure which one will remain the king. On the front you get yourself a 1.9 mega-pixel font facing camera, that is perfect for taking “selfies” or video chatting on the go as it records video in 720pHD. In terms of storage it will come in either 16/32/64GB of space and it does have a microSD card. And you will also get 50GB of DropBox storage for free. So, they are one-upping HTC there with more free storage. You can get the device in either Pebble Blue or Marble white, both colors look great. It will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a new version of Samsung Touch Wiz. The device is molded around nature, for instance the lock screen is water droplets and when you touch the screen there is both a visual and verbal reaction. It also tracks your eyes and can determine the correct brightness level. NFC is built into the device, so Android Beam will be available. This will allow you to share files between other device running Android 4.0 . Samsung has also introduced several new suites to there applications, like “Game Hub”. You also get “S Voice” which is an advanced natural language user interface. It will be able to both listen and respond to what you are saying. Instead of hitting the snooze button, you can now say snooze and tell it what music to play. Overall, the Galaxy S III seems like a great device. It will be launching in Europe during this month which is May. And they said the US should get it in June. You Can Sign-Up For More Info On The Galaxy S II Right From Samsung, By Clicking Here. When more info is released we will update you, in the meantime check out the Press Release below.
