Google Unveils The Chromebook Pixel!

Google has just announced the Chromebook Pixel! The Chromebook Pixel is the start of the next generation of Chromebooks. They wanted to rethink and redesign what a computer can be with the Pixel. The Chromebook Pixel has a very high pixel density at 239 pixels per inch, it has around 4.3 millions pixels. This will give you sharp text, great colors, and better viewing angles. It is a touch screen as well, this way you can just reach out and touch what you want. The Pixel is made out of anodized aluminum alloy which gives it a smooth feel, speakers are found beneath the backlight keyboard, screws are invisible and vents are hidden. The touchpad is made out glass and it features a 720p video camera. For better sound while video chatting or recording a video there are 3(three) microphones on the Pixel. The Chromebook Pixel is fast and it is powered by a Intel Core i5 Processor and a solid state Flash memory architecture. There will be 2(two) models a WiFi variant and a LTE variant. The LTE model will be running on Verizon’s super fast 4G LTE network. You will get 12 free GoGo Inflight Internet passes as well. You will get 1TB of cloud storage for 3-years with the purchase of the Chromebook Pixel. The WiFi version of the Chromebook Pixel will cost $1299 and the LTE version of the device will go for $1449. Chromebooks were designed to make computing speedy, simple and secure. For many of you, they have become the perfect, additional (and yes, affordable) computer: ideal for catching up on emails, sharing documents and chatting via Hangouts. We’re tremendously grateful to our partners—Samsung, Acer, Lenovo and HP—for their commitment. The momentum has been remarkable: the Samsung Chromebook has been #1 on Amazon’s bestseller list for laptops every day since it launched 125 days ago in the U.S., and Chromebooks now represent more than 10 percent of notebook sales at Currys PC World, the largest electronics retailer in the U.K.

So what’s next? Today we’re excited to announce our newest laptop—the Chromebook Pixel—which brings together the best in hardware, software and design to inspire the next generation of Chromebooks. With the Pixel, we set out to rethink all elements of a computer in order to design the best laptop possible, especially for power users who have fully embraced the cloud. The body of the Pixel is made from an anodized aluminum alloy to create a smooth and durable surface; vents are hidden, screws are invisible and the stereo speakers are seamlessly tucked away beneath the backlit keyboard. The touchpad is made from etched glass, analyzed and honed using a laser microscope to ensure precise navigation.
