Our friends over at Ventev have sent us the Powercell 5000 for us to review. For those of you who do not know, Ventev is a company that does both wireless infrastructure and mobile accessories. They offer accessories from cables, to battery packs, and much more. The Powercell 5000 is essentially away to charge your device on the go. It is the largest of their portable power banks, that they currently offer. It comes in at an affordable $54.99 and offers some nice features, but will it be your next mobile accessory? Keep reading to see our full thoughts on the Powercell 5000 Battery Charger!

Usually battery packs are not something we enjoy carrying or having to bring along with us. For example, many of the battery cases add weight and thickness to the smartphone itself and the external power packs may be bulky. Ventev has managed to go the opposite direction with their power pack, while it is a not a jaw dropping gorgeous design, it definitely differentiates it self from other battery packs. The main reason for this being, is that it is not bulky or to compact. The Powercell 5000 comes is around the size of a solid state drive, while it is shorter than a smartphone, it is a little bit wider. It is a very portable battery pack that is light and not too thick.

In terms of design elements, it has a rubber grip kind of feel all around it. A very soft matte feel which both provides grip and nice touch. The back side of the device is a darker gray, as is the front of the Powercell 5000. Going around the edges is a molded rubber that is a lighter shade of grey. The front of the device features an orange Ventev logo, 4 LED indicator lights, and a power button. The bottom of the device is home to a 1A USB port, 2.1A USB port, and a micro USB port. The back of the device con taints some information about the device, along with names for each input.

Ventev offers two USB port, this way you can charge up to two devices at once with this power bank. One of the USB ports is 2.1A or 10W, Ventev calls this the rapid charge port, meaning it can pump more charge into a device in a smaller amount of time. While the Powercell 5000 cannot completely charge a tablet, this feature is highlighted for tablets. In my testing it could handle charging multiple smartphones, around two or three, all the way up too 100%. On the other hand for tablets, it is better for topping off, as they contain larger batteries and need more power. Inside of the Powercell 5000 from Ventev is a 5,000mAh or 18.5Wh capacity battery.

The Powercell 5000 can be paired with several other mobile accessories that Ventev makes. I would like to highlight their charging cables, which happen to be tangle free. Their Chargesync cables come in at around $14.99 and have some unique features. They are available in a wide variety of colors and are built well. They come in a size of three feet for length and charge at 2.1A.

At under $60, the Ventev Powercell 5000 is an affordable mobile power bank. These are ideal for car rides or vacations, especially on airplanes if they do not offer the in-seat power. Ventev has managed to make their power bank quite compact as well, which is a unique advantage. It is compact enough, that if need be you could bring it to school or work with you, since you pop it right in your bag. You can charge up to two devices at once and it offers the rapid charge capabilities. If you are looking for a mobile power bank that won’t break the bank and that has a compact design, I would suggest you take a look at the Powercell 5000 from Ventev. Currently the Powercell 5000 retails for $54.99 and You Can See It By Clicking Here. We would like to thank Ventev for providing us with a review unit of the “Ventev Powercell 5000”.
