Boost Mobile announced earlier this year, that the Next Big Thing from Samsung, the Galaxy S 5, would be coming to the carrier. Sometime after this initial announcement, Boost said that the device was landing on May 19th and would be available the same day. The unknown, up until now, was the price of the Galaxy S 5 for the carrier. Well BestBuy has just let the cat out of the bag, by kicking off pre-orders of the device. They have the Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5 4G for $599.99. At the price of $599.99, this is one of the more expensive devices on the carrier. Keep in mind that as a no-contract carrier, you buy the devices for the off contract full retail price, which is more expensive. The trade-off here is that the monthly plan does not come with a contract and comes in at a lower price point.
According to the product page, the Boost Mobile variant of the device will feature HD Voice or at least be HD Voice capable. It will be running on their 4G LTE network, which means it will be on Sprint’s 4G LTE network, most likely with Sprint Spark on board as well. The Galaxy S 5 on Boost Mobile features a 2.5GHz quad core processor, a 2 megapixel front camera, a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display, a 16 megapixel back camera, and much more. It appears that Boost Mobile will only have the “white” variant of the device and does not have any carrier specific branding on the outside of the device.
