GoPro is making a lot of waves today and it turns out October 5th will be a big day for them. GoPro has just unleashed the Hero4, which is available in two editions, both Black and Silver. They also unveiled the Hero, which will be the new entry-level GoPro. All three of these, the Hero4 Black, Hero4 Silver, and the  Hero will be landing on October 5th.

The Hero4 Black edition is truly a pro built device, and is being called the highest performance GoPro yet. It brings 2X, pretty much everything, when compared to the model that it is succeeding. You can now record 4k in a full 30 frames per second, along with 2.7K at 50 frames per second, and full 1080pHD at 120 frames per second. This essentially removes rolling shutter instances from the equation, plus it allows you to still incorporate slow motion effects. It has a 12 megapixel lens that can do burst photos at 30 photos per second. For faster wireless connection, you have upgrade Bluetooth and WiFi, this gives you better battery life and a smoother connection to the apps. The Hero4 Black edition really brings out all the new hardware and image technology, which makes it a truly pro device. But, the Hero4 Silver edition does have one large, sensitive, trick up it’s sleeve. Along with the video capture at 2.7K30, 1080p60 and 720p120, and the 12 megpaixel lens, it is the first GoPro, ever, to have a built-in touch display. Up until now you have to use the manual buttons, or use the application to see what the camera was recording, with this you now can see what you are filming and have easy access to controls. The Hero4 Black edition has an MSRP of $499.99 and the Silver edition has an MSRP of $399.99. Both of these cameras have some other unique features that they share.

The first of these features would be the new audio system, which brings high performance audio to the table. It has a new microphone to capture clean, high fidelity sound with 2x the dynamic range of the older models. With QuickCapture, you can make it shows that with a single push of a button you can start recording video and with a press and a hold you can start filming time lapses. The popular feature Protune which allowed for manual control, is now here for both video and photo. It now includes Color, Sharpness, ISO Limit, and Exposure controls for video, along with photo. GoPro recognized that many of its users like to there cameras out at night, and with Night Photo and Night Lapse you now have more control over night shooting. You can customize the exposure settings for up to 30 seconds, allowing you to get just the right image. With HiLight Tag you can mark key or core moments while recording them and see these notes for future use. These are just a few of the all new features on Hero4Black and Hero4 Silver.

Lastly, I mentioned that GoPro has a new entry-level model, and that is the new Hero. A perfect way to enter the GoPro family and it comes at a very low price point of just $129.99, cutting out most of the competition with this price tag. It can capture full 1080pHD at 120 frame per second and 720pHD video at 60 frames per second. It still features the design and build that GoPro is known for, a small powerful camera that can be taken anywhere and is rugged. All of these get accomplished with the GoPro Hero.

GoPro Hero4 Silver

Overall, these three new GoPro’s really bring them into the next level and will certainly be quite the popular items. The Hero4 features both a heavily pro model and one that has a huge added convenience. The Hero4 Black has one of the best lenses around with 4K recording at a full 30 frame per second, along with many new enhancements. While the Hero4 Silver brings an easier way to control the camera via the built-in touch display. And then with the Hero they are making GoPro products very readily accessible, with it starting at just $129.99.
