Motorola has already announced the Moto X Pure Edition, but they have just announced on Twitter that the device will be available for purchase on September 3rd. Keep in mind that the Moto X Pure Edition is quite similar to the Moto X Style, but this Pure variant is the only one the United States will be getting. The device will be available direct from Motorola on September 3rd and will start at $399. Like with past Moto X devices, you will get Moto Maker and can choose from a plethora of custom backs.
Let’s give you a quick run down on the hardware and features of the Moto X Pure Edition. It has a 5.7-inch 1440p QuadHD display with a resolution of 1440 X 2560 with 520 pixels-per-inch. For added protection the display has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 over it. It is running Android 5.5.1 Lollipop out of the box and Motorola is promising priority Android updates to the device.
It is powered by a Motorola Mobile Computing System that is made up of a 1.8GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 808 with hexa-core CPU (MSM8992), Adreno 418 GPU, Natural Language Processor, and Contextual Computing Processor. All of these processors are paired with a solid 3GB of RAM. In terms of storage, you can get the device in a 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB sizes. And it will be quite easy to expand on your storage thanks to a micro SD card slot. Motorola is saying you should get all day battery life, thanks to a 3,000 mAh battery inside and Turbo Charging is back. You will also get a 21 megapixel lens on the back and a 5 megapixel lens on the front!
