Experience the Times Square Ball LEDs right in your living room

Hi there all you holiday celebrants from near and far! For the first time ever, Philips users will be able to experience an in-home New Years Eve celebration like no other. With the new Hue Fireworks app, Philips Hue users will have the option to sync their own connected LEDs to the Times Square Ball as it makes its internationally famous descent.

For 16 years and counting, Philips LEDs have been trusted to illuminate the Times Square Ball. With over 16 million colors, Philips Hue is sure to transform any New Years Eve celebration with an inspiring light show.

Here’s how it works:

1. Download the Hue Fireworks for Philips Hue app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Purchase your favorite selection of Philips Hue lights from Amazon, Home Depot, or Best Buy.
3. Sync your Philips Hue lights with the Times Square Ball as it drops, by selecting the Times Square Ball feature in the Hue Fireworks app.

The Times Square Ball drop certainly is one of the most well-known lighting moments in the world. Probably because the Times Square Ball is illuminated with 32,256 Philips Luxeon Rebel LED (light emitting diodes) bulbs, grouped in 672 modules of 48 bulbs each. Each module contains 12 red, 12 blue, 12 green, and 12 white LED bulbs that combine to create over 16 million colors and billions of patterns. That’s brighter than my personality!
