Digit launched last year in the Spring and they are an automated savings service. Yes, an automated savings service, it automatically takes a little bit of money at of time from your checking account and moves it into a savings account. It makes savings very easy, it doesn’t break the bank, and it is automatic. The service is technically not a bank, so you don’t get interest, but they do offer some rewards. Up until now, the service was accessible through a website and was SMS messaging based. This all changes, as Digit has launched iOS application, as well as one for the Apple Watch.
You might not being thinking an application makes sense for Digit, especially because it is a messaging based service. But the application keep the messaging idea going strong. The app looks very similar to an SMS messaging application, it does not completely change how you use it. This is a good thing, you don’t want to change everything for your customers, but instead Digit’s app makes it easier to use the service.
Even better the Digit app, has pre-loaded messages you can send to Digit, this will help you move money and see recent transactions. The interface is very sleek on the Apple Watch as well, making it very easy to see how much you have in savings, as well as checking. Even better by hitting Recent 10, you can quickly see your last 10 transactions.
Digit has yet to release exact numbers on how many people use the service, but they save over $14 million a month. Digit is now live in the App Store, click here to check it out.
