Hot off the heels of Samsung announcing a global recall of the Note7, carriers in the United States are speaking up. Customer safety is a top priority for Verizon, and they have stopped selling the Note7. This goes for online sales, telephone sales, and in-store orders of the device.
For customers who have already bought the device, Verizon will let you return the device with no restocking fee until September 30, 2016. Customers will also have the opportunity to exchange the unit, once the fixed devices are available.
Verizon has not yet announced when the Galaxy Note7 will be up for sale again, but I think this is a few weeks out.
You can see the full statement from Verizon below:
This morning, Samsung announced a voluntary recall of the Galaxy Note7 in response to an issue with the device’s battery. Because customer safety is our top priority, Verizon has stopped selling the Galaxy Note7. Additionally, through September 30, 2016, Verizon is waiving the restocking fee for any customers who purchased a Galaxy Note7 and wish to return or exchange it.
