Along with unveiling a plethora of new ThinkPad notebooks, Lenovo has announced two new docks. These are geared towards the new notebooks, has they have gone with Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C for many of them.
As with past docking solutions, these provide many ports and power for the devices connected. This year you can throw in video performance and fast data transfers. The Thunderbolt 3 Dock offers thirteenĀ ports; two DisplayPorts, one HDMI, one VGA, one Thunderbolt 3, five USB 3.0, one Ethernet, one microphone jack, and a security lock. It can also power up to 65 watts for the system connected. The Thunderbolt 3 Dock will land in January for $279.
Similarly, Lenovo has made a USB-C dock. It has two DisplayPorts, one VGA port, one USB-C port, three USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one Ethernet port, a microphone jack, and security lock. It can provide power, up to 60 watts, for the system plugged in. Through all of these ports, you can power displays, do data transfers, and network. Lenovo’s ThinkPad USB-C Dock will cost $199 when it lands next month, January 2017.
