Back at the 2017 Mobile World Congress, Samsung showed off a new Gear VR that included a motion controller. While this is similar to Google’s Daydream and other high-end VR solutions, it was a surprising yet needed move from Samsung.
The new Gear VR includes a motion controller that lets you easily navigate Samsung’s VR ecosystem and can create new ways of interaction. It removes the necessity to have one hand next to your head to control the pad on the older Gear VR Models.
And if you are pairing this Gear VR with the new S8 or S8 Plus, you are utilizing a gorgeous Infinity Display that worked really well during a brief demo. Keeping in mind that the game may not support the full resolution, but when watching a UHD video it will look quite nice.
Samsung’s new Gear VR with Controller has wide-ranging compatibility with previous devices and is landing on April 21st for $129.
