Google is taking machine learning and artificial intelligence to the next level. Sundar Pichai has just announced Google Lens, which makes your camera much more powerful through image recognition. And this goes a step further than most competitors, especially in comparison to Samsung’s Bixby image recognition.
For starters, Google Lens will be rolling out to Photos and the Google Assistant first. You can use it to understand a flower to see if you are allergic. You can point it at stores to see there hours or restaurants to make a reservation. But even better it is smart enough to look at the SSID on a Router and automatically connect to the network. It seems that Google Lens goes the extra mile and actually becomes useful for the end-user.
This fits in with Google’s larger effort to make Artificial Intelligence accessible to everyone.
