The Google Home is getting some big updates including Hands-Free Calling. And it is all done with natural language recognition, you can simply same “Call Mom” or “Call Dad”. But even better, since it knows different voices, it will know whose mom to call.
Now, it can either use a private number or link with your personal number on your account. It will let you dial out with your personal number when you detect your voice, which means it has the power of machine learning behind it. When you use Google’s private number it will come at no charge for calls in the United States. This hands-free calling feature will work with both commercial and residential numbers.
Hands-Free Calling on the Google Home will begin rolling out in the United States over the coming months.
