Today Jacob Krol of NJTechReviews has the unboxing and first impressions of the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8! This is new family of products from Lenovo was just announced. The Yoga Tablet 8 will be available tomorrow, October 30 2013, for $249.99 and will be sold from BestBuy and Lenovo. Now, let’s dive into our first impressions of the device!

The Yoga Tablet 8 is unlike any other tablet on the market, it has a unique design paired with great hardware. It has very nice build, it comes in at only .88-pounds and it is very light. The cylindrical handle not only allows you to have three unique modes, but it makes the tablet really comfortable to hold in either landscape or portrait. The handle is built very well, with a simple turn of the handle, the kickstand on the back will open up. This eliminates the need to buy an external accessory to hold your tablet up. When you combine Stand mode, with Tilt and Hold it makes for a great user experience from the get go. Let’s do a quick tour of the Yoga Tablet 8, the left hand side is home to the micro USB port and power/sleep button. Note that the USB port can be used to charge other devices, like your smartphone. You have your 1.6 megapixel camera on the front left hand side and on the back on the left hand side of the handle, you will find the 5 megapixel rear camera. The right hand side is home to the volume rocker and headphone jack. Lastly, under the kick stand you will find the micro SD card slot.

The Yoga Tablet 8 is really fast from the time I have spent with it so far, the 1.2GHz quad core processor with 1GB of RAM does a great job powering it. Turning the device on is really quick and the user experience with the software is very nice. The 8-inch HD display is very vibrant and bright, the viewing angles make it very easy for everyone to see. One final note is that software is customized, but not too a very large extent. Lenovo did a very nice job with the customizations and it runs really fast.

This has been a quick unboxing and first impressions of the brand new Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8! Comment below and let me know if there is anything specifically you will like me to cover in my full review, which is coming soon! You can see my unboxing video of the Yoga Tablet 8 below!
