Today Jacob Krol of NJTechReviews visited his local Verizon Wireless retail store to take a look at the new Ellipsis 7 tablet. You can see our full video hands-on with the device below, but keep reading for some first impressions. This new tablet is available exclusively on Verizon Wireless. It comes in at $249.99 with a 2-year contract, but for a limited time can get $100 off any tablet, including the Ellipsis 7, when purchasing with a new two-year contract. This means you can get this device for only $149.99. Verizon is calling the Ellipsis a “full featured tablet at an affordable price”. It comes in at a lower price then the Nexus 7, but it does tag along a contract. And the Nexus 7 won’t run on Verizon until it gets Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Ellipsis 7 is Verizon’s own in-house built device and it does have a place in the market, at 7-inches it comes cheaper than other similar tablets on contract. For starters it felt very nice in the hand, with a sweet slate design on the back. It 12.7-ounces and is only 0.4-inches thick, so a very clean design.

It has very clean version of Android 4.2.2 with very little customizations. This is one of the similarities to the Nexus 7, but it does have some pre-loaded applications. For storage you get 8GB of internal storage and a micro SD card slot. For speed a 1.2GHz quad core processor with 1GB of RAM. From the time spent with it in the store, it seemed to perform well and multitasking was a nice experience. Verizon’s super fast 4G LTE is on board as well. A VGA camera is on the front and a 3.2 megapixel camera on the back. A quality 7-inch HD IPS 216-poi display is on board with a resolution of 1280 X 800.

Overall, my experience in store with Ellipsis 7 was positive and it seems like a nice 7-inch tablet that is affordable. Especially with the nice $100 discount if you get a contract deal, that is currently going on. You can see my video hand-on with the Ellipsis 7 below. For More Information On The Verizon Ellipsis 7, Please Click Here. Stay tuned for my full review of the Verizon Ellipsis 7.
