Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge First Look

Samsung did not just announce one flagship at the 2016 Mobile World Congress, but instead they announced two. Our first look at the Galaxy S7 already dropped, but now we have our first look at the Galaxy S7 Edge! BestBuy Mobile stores are the first place for consumers and customers alike to go hands-on with Samsung’s latest devices. You can also pre-order either the Galaxy S7 or the Galaxy S7 Edge, and get a pretty sweet deal from them. Keep reading to hear my first thoughts on the Galaxy S7 Edge.

For starters, the Galaxy S7 Edge is not just the bigger of the devices, but it seems more innovative. The biggest improvement with the edge would have to be the new software features. By offering more of a unique experience with the Edge sidebar, like with integrating application shortcuts and news services, it gives people a reason to want the Edge. Instead of just getting the device because of a unique design, Samsung has added some usability to it.

But the Galaxy S7 Edge is the bigger of the two devices, with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display. Like the screen on the S7, it shines bright and this is to be expected as Samsung usually offers some very nice displays. Colors look very vibrant and darks look very dark and true to what you would expect.

The S7 Edge is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a Samsung user interface that does include a new Edge sidebar. It is powered by a quad-core 2.15GHz + 1.6GHz processor with 4GB of RAM, and it is quite fast. But I will not make any conclusions yet, I will save that for my forth coming full review of the S7 Edge.

It has a larger 3,600mAh battery and an IP68 certification for water and dust protection. You can also finally expand your storage again with a microSD card slot. The back of the device has a dual pixel 12 megapixel camera and the front has a 5 megapixel lens. I have to say that Galaxy S7 Edge seems to be my pick out of the two new flagships so far.

Exclusive to BestBuy Mobile is a great deal and offer, when your pre-order a Galaxy S7 Edge or a Galaxy S7, you will get two freebies. A Samsung Gear VR with an Oculus game bundle, as well as a 64GB microSD card. This will let you double the storage of the device instantly. This is an awesome deal and you can take advantage of it no matter what carrier you are on, as BestBuy Mobile can get you setup on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon. Click here to learn more about this great deal from BestBuy Mobile!
