Google has just dropped the final developer preview for Android M, and along with the final version some other details have come out. Android M is going to be known as Marshmallow and will be a full update to the current version, as it comes in as version 6.0! Our friends over at Nat & Lo’s 20% Project have teased what Android M is going to be earlier this week and just a matter of minutes ago they took us behind the scenes on how they made the Android M statue!
Android M, Android Marshmallow, and Android 6.0 brings with a bunch of new features! It brings a visual voicemail, which is now built-in; no longer do you have to download a separate app and the experience should be pretty great. You will get auto rotating home screen, this will be nice for larger screen devices. There is now fingerprint sensor support built right into the operating system. Plus, Google is reentering the mobile wallet market with Android Pay, which means Apple Pay and Samsung Pay will have some more competition.
It appears that the statue of Android M went up in front of Building 43 on Google’s campus in Mountain View, California. It looks pretty good, with the class green Android and big marshmallow. The treats the employees on the Android team and all around Google today must be pretty fantastic.
