AT&T has announced that they will be adding the latest and great smartphone from Microsoft. Yes the software and hardware giant is continuing in the mobile market, this time with Windows 10 Mobile. The just announced Microsoft Lumia 950 will be joining the AT&T network. No word on exacting pricing or availability as of yet, but they will be announcing it at a later date.
In the meantime we at least know the main features and hardware specifications of the Lumia 950. For starters it is running Windows 10 Mobile and you will get a new feature called Continuum, which will turn your phone into a full Windows 10 computer. The mobile user interface will be getting a start menu and a desktop like interface as well, meaning a very similar design to that of Windows 10.
The 950 has a 5.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1440 X 2560. It is powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM, and it actually has a liquid cooling inside. The latter feature is the first time that this type of technology is being brought to a smartphone. You will get a 20 megapixel camera on the back with a triple LED flash, along with a 5 megapixel wide-angle lens on the front. Lastly, the Lumia 950 should have 32GB of storage inside and will use a USB-C port for charing and data sync.
Microsoft is saying that the unlocked variant of the Lumia 950 will begin to ship in November and will start at $549. I expect to see it come to AT&T just in time for the holidays at a cheaper price point either on a contract or with a monthly installment plan.
