Verizon has finally shed some light on the LG G5 launch, after all the device was announced at the 2016 Mobile World Congress. But, Big Red is finally taking pre-orders for LG’s latest creation, the modular, G5. Even better, if you pre-order by March 31st 2016, you will get an extra battery and a 360 cam for free.
On Verizon, the LG G5 comes in at $26 per month for 24 months or $624 with no contract at full retail price. Verizon is offering the LG G5 in Silver and Black, unfortunately the carrier is not getting some of the other colors. Regardless of color, all of the LG G5’s on Verizon, will have 32GB of internal storage. Verizon is saying that pre-orders of the LG G5 will deliver by April 1st and should launch in store this day as well.
The LG G5 features an all metal aluminum design with a modular build, in that you can pop the battery out and add in different companion modules. It has a sharp and curved 5.3-inch Quad HD display that features 3D Arc Glass and an Always-On feature. This Always-on feature allows you to quickly see the time, calendar, and any recent notifications without turning the phone on. The G5 has a 16 megapixel and an 8 megapixel dual camera setup on the back of the device. One of these lenses features a 78-degree and the other has a 135-degree view, which is the largest of any smartphone. In fact the larger of the two is largely then the human eye’s field of view. On the front of the device you will find a 8 megapixel lens.
Powering the G5 is a Snapdragon 820 processor with 64-bit performance, an Adreno 530 chip for graphics, a low-power Qualcomm Hexagon DSP, and a Qualcomm spectra 14-bit dual image processor. All of this processing power is paired with 4GB of RAM, along with Android 6.1 Marshmallow with a LG user interface a top. For storage the LG G5, will have 32GB of internal storage, along with a micro SD card slot so you can expand.
The LG G5 and its friends will officially launch on Verizon on April 1st 2016, which coincidentally is Apple’s 40th Birthday and is the day after the iPhone SE launch. You can check out the LG G5 on Verizon, by clicking here.
