Samsung’s next duo of flagship smartphone are here, and these are the first since the Galaxy Note 7– A device that had a unique fast paced lifespan, to say the least. It was a promising device which ended in a recall. Today, Samsung pushes past that with the introduction of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus.

The biggest difference besides for hardware and software, would be the size. These are the largest flagship Galaxy devices yet, the S8 standing 5.8-inches tall and the S8 Plus coming in at 6.2-inch tall. Besides for size, the only difference between the S8 and S8 Plus would be the battery and displays.

The Galaxy S8 has a 5.8-inch 2,960 X 1440 display with 570 pixels per inch; it should be quite sharp considering it is a Super AMOLED. Meanwhile, the S8 Plus gets a large 6.2-inch 2,960 X 1440 Super AMOLED display with 529 pixels per inch. They are both running Android 7.0 Nougat with a Samsung user interface that features their new personal assistant, Bixby.

Powering the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus is a 2.35Ghz and 1.9Ghz Eight Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GBs of RAM. Samsung has opted to put 64GB of internal storage plus a micro SD card slot, that can support up to an additional 2TB of storage. On the front, you will find an 8-megapixel camera that will be sweet for selfies and Snapchat. While the back, packs a 12-megapixel camera setup with a LED flash. Both of these lenses can record video at up to 4K resolution. Additionally, the back features a fingerprint sensor for easy unlocking.

The Galaxy S8 has a 3,000mAh battery and Galaxy S8 Plus has a 3,500mAh battery. Similarly to the Note 7 and the Galaxy S7, the S8 and S8 Plus are water-resistant and have wireless charging capabilities. Ironically enough these devices are Gigabit LTE ready as well. Samsung has opted for USB Type-C ports as well.

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus should be available for pre-order on March 30th, 2017. Both of these devices are coming to T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint.
