Yves returned to the stage to show off another surprising project form Ubisoft, a new pirate game called Skull & Bones. Justin Farren of Ubisoft Singapore, and creative director of the game, expanded upon the trailer shown stating that the game is a strategy focused action game that can be played player to player.

Farren also stated that the game expanded upon the pirate themes and navel combat system of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Farren also showed a good few minutes of gameplay which looks fairly similar to, but more polished and further expanded, that of Black Flag. This gameplay showcased the player vs player combat mode, in which the pirate with the most loot wins. Towards the end of the round, pirate hunters will appear and attack the pirate with the most loot, forcing them to escape.

Unlike Black Flag, it would appear that the player, or their team, will be able to control multiple ships rather than just one. The biggest difference however is that the world may be dynamic, based on Farren’s comment that “when you act, the world reacts”.

The final trailer for the game also hinted at the inclusion of a giant squid.

Signing up at the official website will allows player to gain early access to the beta, with the full game arriving in fall of 2018, with no specific consoles named.
