Since Apple acquired Beats By Dre, we have seen more love shown to their wireless headphones and this time around we see an update to the flagship offering. After several years, we are getting an update to the Beats Studio line; Introducing the Beats Studio3 Wireless.

When the Beats Studio launched in 2008, it was the core product of the Beats By Dre lineup and this year’s upgrades bring some nice features. The highlight would be Apple’s W1 Chip being on-board. This makes it incredibly easy to connect to an iOS or macOS device– As when the headphones are near the device it will pop up on the display for setup or auto connect for listening. The inclusion of a W1 Chip for Bluetooth connectivity, not only makes using them easier but it also allows for 22 hours of battery life with noise canceling turned on.

The Studio3 Wireless will automatically shut off noise canceling when the battery is getting low to extend the play time as much as possible. They will also be charged through micro USB, surprisingly not a lightning cable, and do have a FastFuel mode. This means 10 minutes of charging will give you three hours of use. Another highlight of the Beats Studio3 Wireless would be the Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling technology. It makes use of proprietary algorithms that listen to the environment around you and block out ambient noise, in any environment. Typically this is an area where noise canceling headphones fall short, but it seems as if this new use of algorithms to create Pure ANC, might pay off.

Typically this is an area where noise canceling headphones fall short, but it seems as if this new use of algorithms to create Pure ANC, might pay off. The technology is always checking the environment to ensure an excellent listening experience, in fact, the real-time audio calibration operates up to 50,000 times a second. Even with Pure Adaptive Noise Cancelation turned on, you can still expect 22 hours of battery life over Bluetooth.

With a new model, comes new colors; The Beats Studio3 Wireless comes in Matte Black, White, Blue, and Red. Porcelain Rose and Shadow Gray are the two special edition colors for now. Beats Studio3 Wireless are available now from Apple for $349. Stay tuned for a full review as we test out the Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones.
