Perhaps the biggest surprise of the Ubisoft conference is the announcement of Beyond Good and Evil 2, a game which has been in development for nearly 15 years. It was introduced by two of the game’s developer who described the game as not a sequel, as many expected, but rather as a prequel. This was the final game shown at the conference.

This not the first time this game has been teased, with an early trailer showing up sometime in 2008 when the game was set for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. However that version of the game, which would have been a straight sequel, never came to fruition and was stuck in a development rut. Many believed the game was cancelled, but today the world got it’s first look at the final version of Beyond Good and Evil 2.

The game is set to feature massive ships and space based combat, as well as a cast of many races, species, and personalities.

By registering for the game’s Space Monkey program, players can impact the game’s development for the better. The game’s release date was not stated and there was no mention of what consoles the game would be on.
