Aboard The Intrepid!

Over the weekend, NJTechReviews went to the intrepid. We got to see all of their amazing exhibits including the brand new Space Shuttle Pavilion. This is the Intrepid’s latest exhibit, seeing a space shuttle up close is amazing and breathtaking. The Intrepid also has many planes, helicopters, and many more items. And the entire museum is over the water, as you are on an aircraft carrier. You can go inside some of the cabins, and go up to the bridge. But first let’s begin with the Space Shuttle Pavilion, this is Intrepid’s newest exhibit. It is currently being displayed inside of a “bubble” towards the back of...

What Did You Get This Year?

Well, it is the holiday season time of year again. So, the big question everyone is asking is “What Did You Get?“. Did you pick a Verizon 4G LTE Phone like the Galaxy Nexus, HTC Rezound, or Droid RAZR? Or did you get the awesome LG Nitro HD?  You get the new laptop you were dying for the like the Alienware M11X or Lenovo IdeaPad U400? Or maybe you went with an MP3 Player like the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0? Yet again you could have gone with a Tablet, like the Samsung Tab’s or the Droid XYBOARD. And we can’t forget your video games or systems like the Xbox 360 or Dance Central 2. Or you could have gotten something...

A look into the past: The Slide Rule

Before the advent of the modern pocket calculator, slide rules were used to do complex calculations. These devices require no electricity, resemble a ruler, and were made of plastic. It could perform trig functions, logarithms, multiplication, and other calculations. These simple mechanical devices were all that was used to perform the calculations that took us to the moon. The engineers and scientists, lacking the modern technology of today, relied on the...

Cash 2 Gold ATM- 1 Of 20 In The World

At Town Center in Boac Raton Florida lives a very rare vending machine. It is 1 of 20 in the world. It is the first one in the US. It also sells gold. Yes, this is a Gold Vending Machine. However it is a very smart vending machine. It also has it’s very own personal attendant. It updates every 10 minutes to give your correct prcing. However thye charge $100...

AOL Promotional Discs=A Ton Of Money

So this one is very intreating. Remember those AOL Promotional discs, that were around during the 1990′s? Well the CEO during that time sure did. Take a look at this quick Q&A session that he had on the site Quora. How much did it cost AOL to distribute all those CDs back in the 1990′s? A lot! I don’t remember the total spending but do recall in the early 1990s our target was to spend 10% of lifetime revenue to get a new subscriber. At that time I believe the average subscriber life was about 25 months and revenue was about $350 so we spent about $35 to acquire [subscribers]. Around $35 per disc; This seems like a...
