Lenovo Unleashes The Miix2 8-inch Windows 8.1 Tablet, Landing Later This Month For $299.99!

Lenovo has just unleashed the Miix2 8-inch Windows 8.1 Tablet that is mixing productivity with entertainment. It’s packing an HD display with a Quad-Core processor into a compact tablet form. The Miix2 8-inch is following in the foot steps of the original Lenovo Miix and it is landing later this month for only $299.99!

The Lenovo Miix2 8-inch tablet has a unique form factor that will let you take it anywhere. It is quite thin at only 0.32-inches and it light weight at only 0.77-pounds. It will come in a nice silver color as well, with a black front. To compliment the Miix2 8-inch tablet, Lenovo has made a unique detachable cover and stylus. This accessory is optional and is available for an extra $20. The covers will be made available in a wide variety of colors like black, blue, or pink. The cover not only protects the display, but it can also be used as a stand for the tablet.

In terms of hardware the Miix2 8-inch tablet has some power on the inside as well. For speed you will get a Intel Bay Trail-T Quad Core processor with 2GB of RAM, based on Intel Atom S architecture. For graphics you get a  Intel HD Graphics (Gen7) with Clear Video HD technology integrated. For storage you can get it in either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, plus there is a micro SD card slot. A 2 megapixel camera is on the front and a 5 megapixel camera is on the back. A beautiful 8-inch HD WXGA 800 X 1280 display is on board that features 10-point multi-touch and 178 degree viewing angles. Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi are on board for connectivity.

For software you get Windows 8.1 out of the box on the Miix2 8-inch tablet from Lenovo. The new Internet Explorer 11, touch optimization,  enhanced searching and sharing, plus the return of the “Start” button is in Windows 8.1. You can video chat using the built-in cameras. For work and productivity Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 is on board, this way you can edit, view, and create documents. If you get the optional stylus, it can be used to draw, sketch, or take notes.

The Lenovo Miix2 8-inch will be a great addition to their Windows Tablet family. It comes in at a great starting price point of only $299.99 and is landing later this month. It will give you the best of both worlds, as you can use it for work and play. Having Microsoft Office pre-loaded is a great feature and it will run great thanks to the Quad-Core processor inside. Overall, the Lenovo Miix2 8-inch tablet seems like a great device and a very affordable one. I cannot wait to get my hands-on it, in the mean time you can see the gallery and press release below.

Lenovo Blends Entertainment with Productivity in New Miix2 8-inch Tablet

The Lenovo Miix2 8” also encourages productivity outside the office. The device comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013, allowing users to easily view, edit and manage their documents right out of the box. The tablet also offers the option of a stylus and detachable cover. The cover protects the screen when not in use and doubles as a stand for viewing content on the device. The stylus is a perfect companion for drawing, sketching or taking notes and further enhances productivity.
