AT&T has said that HD Voice is coming and today they have announced that starting on May 23rd 2014 that High Definition (HD) Voice** on an all-IP, Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) network is coming to select markets. HD Voice will improve the quality of your call’s connection and how it sounds, all in all giving you a better experience. Keep in mind that your device has to be HD Voice capable as well as having the network turned on in your area. Plus on AT&T you will be able to simultaneously use HD Voice and LTE. The end result is clearer voice calls and allows you to hear a wider band of frequencies while reducing background noises all at the same time.
AT&T has made a video that show the different regular and HD voice, it is similar to when you camper standard-definition TV to high-definition TV. In order to use HD Voice, both phones will need to be HD voice capable and HD Voice will need to be turned on in both markets. Select devices have HD Voice capability currently on the market, AT&T today announced that the HD Voice capable Samsung Galaxy S 4 Mini is coming soon.The first four markets to get HD Voice are select areas in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin. They will continue to expand HD Voice on a market-by-market basis.
