Shortly after Google announced #Cardboard as this year’s Google IO developer conference, DODOcase announced that they would be making their own variant of it. A simple virtual reality or VR headset, that was made out of cardboard and works by just simply sliding a compatible device into it. Today, they are announcing DIYVR or DIY Virtual Reality Open Source Future, a new Kickstarter Campaign made by Patrick Buckley, the founder of DODOcase. With this new campaign, they are getting funding to help create new Virtual Reality open source tools, as well as to make this technology as open and free as the internet.
The full $25,000 of the campaign’s goal will go toward the development of these tools, and with it launching just earlier today, it has already crossed the $15,000 mark. Once they develop these tools, the developers will have new sources of creating VR content for your mobile device. Many of the perks are for the DODOcase VR Cardboard Toolkit, but as an added bonus you get a hat which will let you use the VR kit hands-free. Best of all, the perks will be here in time for the holidays, which make them a great gift idea. Check Out Full Kickstarter Campaign, By Clicking Here.
