HTC has had an interesting year to say the least, the flagship HTC One M9 went head to head with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Then earlier in the summer they unveiled several new affordable, yet premium, Desire smartphones. But they are not done yet, they have just sent out invites for a virtual launch event happening on October 20th at 12PM EST. It might just be that we have a Marshmallow HTC One incoming.
It will be happening on www.htc.com/launch and the invite is a unique one. With a stone or rock background and a shadow of presumably a new HTC One device in the middle, with #BeBrilliant on it. The email sent out to media features a subject that is hinting at a new device, “Meet the new Marshmallow from HTC on 10/20”. This means we should see a new HTC One smartphone that is running the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
HTC will have some work today and will certainly need to impress, as the device market is not getting any less packed. Earlier today Google announced both the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, Apple’s iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are here, and a few ago Samsung unleashed the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5.
