Apple has just announced something that might be considered small by some, but large by many. Apple Music now offers a student plan and it makes the service a lot more affordable for them. Now, for just $4.99 a month, a student can get access to music streaming service from Apple, which regularly goes for $9.99. This is pricing for the United States, but elsewhere it will be 50% off of the regular individual plan. The new discount is launching U.K., Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand as well.
Students can change their current individual plan over to the student plan or you can start the service new. Even better for new customers, you can still take advantage of the first three months being free, and then paying only $4.99 for after that. The deal will last for 4 years, but they do not have to be consecutive ones.
By introducing this new student plan, Apple Music has become a lot more affordable and becomes a tougher service to beat. Apple’s take on music streaming has a personal touch and a great user interface, not to mention that it works great with the ecosystem as well.
In order to take advantage of this new more affordable plan, Apple is working with UNiDays for verification. It is quite simple, as you all have to is input your college or institution email address and the name of the school. From there you will receive an email to verify and you will be moved to the $4.99 or 50% student plan.
