Remember that AirTV streaming device we saw leaked out a few weeks ago? Well, it is real, and it has to do with the Optimized For Sling TV announcement that came today. Sling TV has a new certification program that is here to ensure a great streaming experience. This is a new process that has Sling TV working with partners to make it an optimal experience.

Today, two partners in this program are launching– the AirTV Player and Xiaomi’s Mi Box. Both of these streaming players are power by Android. The Mi Box is available now and offers 4K picture at 60 frames per second. The AirTV Player appears to be the better of the two as it allows for local channels as well via an antenna. Even better it will showcase all of your available content in one guide.

Sling TV is looking to expand the Optimized for Sling TV program and has a list of criteria including ease of use, speed, and having the application pre-loaded. We expect that this program will grow over the coming year.
