While it’s not the most technological advanced iPad, it is the most affordable and that is a big move for Apple. Especially when one its main competitors, Samsung has just launched their entewrtainemnt focused Galaxy Tab S3. Well, the new 9.7-inch iPad replaces the previous iPad Air 2 and original iPad Air in the lineup. It is the entry-level core iPad coming in at 9.7-inches, but stands next to the iPad Mini and two iPad Pro’s in the lineup.
The new iPad is quite thin at just 7.5-millimeters and weighs in at just over a pound. It packs an A9 Chip with 64-Bit architecture on-board and an embedded M9 chip for motion. You still get a 9.7-inch IPS LED 2048 X 1536 with 264 pixel per inch display. It has a 32.4 Watt battery inside that should last for 10 hours with use. Apple has included a 1.2-megapixel Facetime camera on the front and opted for an 8-megapixel camera on the back with no flash.
Apple’s new 9.7-inch iPad is available now for order, well officially at 8:01AM PST or 11:01AM EST on today, March 24th 2017. The 32GB WiFi model for $329 and the 32GB model with cellular is just $429.
