Well, it seems that the Amazon Echo and Google Home smart speaker will be getting some competition. Microsoft is teaming up with Harman Kardon to give their voice assistant, Cortana, another home. This time a tangible home inside of a smart speaker that looks pretty similar to the Amazon Echo.

The Invoke smart speaker will most likely beat out the Echo regarding sound, as Harman Kardon can make some pretty good speakers. They are saying that Invoke, will feature 360-degree sound. This announcement or rather update on this speaker is still very light on specific hardware information.

Rather Harman Kardon is focusing in on Cortana’s power, like the fact that Microsoft’s assistant can loop in with Skype. It will also require the Cortana application, available on Windows 10, iOS, and Android, to be installed for setup and update. The Harman Kardon Invoke is expected to launch later this year.
