Update: The Apple Store app is now back online and appears to have been updated with a new section about “Today at Apple.” It will showcase events happening at Apple Stores that are close to your location.

Well, Apple might have a surprise up their sleeves as the Apple Store app for iOS has gone down. The classic “We’ve got something special in store for you. And we can’t wait for you to see it. Please check back soon.” message has gone live and is making the application unusable. The web version of the online store, accessible through Apple.com, is still up and working though.

Apple is rumored to have a new 10.5-inch iPad and updates to the Mac line coming at the 2017 WWDC, but that does not start until June 5th with an opening keynote. I don’t believe this to be a new product launch, but rather a redesign to the application. I am on the east coast in New Jersey, and the Apple Store app is down, but one of our editors in California appears to be able to access the application.

It might be that Apple is updating the application with a redesign to show off the new Shot on iPhone tutorials or for the Today at Apple classes.
