Samsung’s new Gear 360 lands May 25th for $229

Back on March 29th at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event at NYC’s Lincoln Center, the technology giant did just unveil the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Samsung also announced a new Gear 360, which keeps the same name as the product it is succeeding. A solid number of weeks post the launch event and the launch of the S8 and S8 Plus, we are getting pricing and availability for the new 360-degree camera.

Samsung’s new Gear 360 will land tomorrow, May 25th, 2017, for the much more affordable price of $229. It will have a much larger launch as well– being available direct from Samsung, and other retailers likeĀ BestBuy.com, Amazon.com, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and U.S. Cellular. This is a much lower entry point into the area of 360-degree content creation.

The updated Gear 360 can live stream 360-degree video to platforms like YouTube and Facebook. It can also work with Samsung devices; the Gear 360 is now compatible with the iPhone as well. It now packs two 8.4-megapixel fish-eye cameras and a DRIMe5s image processor. Samsung’s new Gear 360 will land tomorrow for $229.
