HTC’s 2017 flagship the U11 began shipping to customers earlier this month, and today the technology giant is announcing a new color option. As of today for customers in the United States, the HTC U11 is available in Solar Red. This new option will be adding to the lineup that already consists of Sapphire Blue, Amazing Silver, and Brilliant Black. The Solar Red U11 will be available exclusively from HTC.com.

Like the other colors for the U11, Solar Red will change its appearance depending on the lighting conditions and the angle it is viewed at. Like the other color variants, this new option will come in at $649 as an unlocked device.

Edge Sense is a unique feature of this smartphone and it might be a gimmick, or it might be useful. The sides of the device can measure pressure, think of this like Apple’s 3D Touch but being put into the physicality of the sides of the device. You can squeeze to take a photo or to open a particular application. The U11 has a 5.5-inch Super LCD Quad HD 2560 X 1440 display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 2.45 GHz processor with 4GB of RAM. Plus it is running Android 7.1 Nougat with a custom HTC user interface placed on top. HTC is offering both the Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa as voice options on the phone. There is a 12MP HTC UltraPixel 3 with 1.4μm pixel camera on the back that has a 90 rating from DxOMark. For selfies and Snapchat’s, there is a 16-megapixel lens on the front. Last but not least there is 64GB of storage on the side and a micro SD card slot for expansion, plus a 3,000mAh battery inside.
