Lenovo did not just announce the Yoga Book today, but their subsidiary Motorola unveiled the third device in the Moto Z Family. Verizon will be adding the Moto Z Play Droid exclusively in the United States on September 8.
The Moto Z Play Droid comes in at $17 a month on a device payment plan or for $408 at full retail. This new device features a similar design to the other Moto Z’s but is closer to the thickness of the Moto Z Force Droid. It also brings about the return of the headphone jack as the device is thick enough to have it built in.
There is no Quad HD display on the Moto Z Play Droid. Instead, you get a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display. Inside you will find a 3,510mAh battery which is larger than the one in the Moto Z Force Droid. It is still running a slightly customize version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, hopefully with an update Android 7.0 Nougat on the horizon.
A 16-megapixel camera with a LED flash is on the back, and a Snapdragon 625 processor powers it. The back of the device features pins and connectors allows compatibility with Moto Mods.
The Moto Z Play Droid will be launching on September 8th on Verizon.
