ZTE is having there 2017 CES Press Conference right now, and the company has just announced a new smartphone for the United States. Yes, they are bringing the Blade series to the USA in the form of the Blade V8 Pro. They are mixing affordability with pro features like a dual lens camera. Like other ZTE devices, the Blade V8 Pro is a no-contract device that will cost $229.98.
ZTE has gone with a 5.5-inch FHD 1080 X 1920 display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. The screen should produce 16 million colors and is on par with other sub $300 devices. It is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a ZTE user interface on top. Powering the Blade V8 Pro is a solid Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB of RAM.
The highlight of the Blade V8 Pro would be the dual-lens setup on the back. As you get two 13-megapixel cameras which allow you to get a Bokeh effect in most photos. This feature is found on the iPhone 7 Plus, and the just announced for the US Huawei Honor 6X. These lenses can record video up to 4K resolution. The front has an 8-megapixel camera which should get the job done for Snapchat.
You will find 32GB of internal storage, along with a micro SD card slot. Interestingly enough this is a dual SIM device that supports GSM/UMTS/LTE networks. ZTE has packed a 3,410mAh battery in the Blade V8 Pro with Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 enabled.
The Blade V8 Pro appears to have a metal frame with a plastic black. The back has a nice gripped design to it, which adds some style.
