Samsung already unveiled the Galaxy Tab S3 and a new Gear VR, but they also have two new Windows devices. The company just unveiled the Galaxy Book 10.6 and Galaxy Book 12, two new Windows 2-in-1 devices. It seems that they are going directly after the Microsoft Surface and building off of the TabPro S from 2016.
The Galaxy Book 10.6 and 12 are running Windows 10 with some exclusive Samsung applications onboard. While it is running a full version of Windows, it might be going after the iPad Pro 9.7 and 12.9 variants as well. With the included keyboard case and S Pen, you can easily move from a tablet to a notebook working environment. Unfortunately, with the slim design of the Galaxy Book, there is no slot for the S Pen.
The Galaxy Book 10.6-inch has a 1920 X 1080 TFT display and is powered by a 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core m3 processor. You also get 4GB of RAM with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The back features a 5-megapixel camera, and a 30.4-watt battery is inside. Samsung has opted for USB-C as the main port, and micro SD card slot is onboard for expandable storage.
The Galaxy Book 12-inch has a 2160 X 1440 Super AMOLED display. It has Windows 10 installed and is powered by a 3.1GHz dual-core 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor. It comes with either 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD or 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. There are also two USB Type-C ports on the 12-inch variant. You also get a slightly larger 39.04-Watt battery inside.
Samsung has not yet announced pricing or availability for either Galaxy Book, but they should launch this year.
