Just one day after Apple’s 2017 Worldwide Developers Conference opening keynote, the company is still delivering some announcements. Today’s updates came as a quiet and unexpected update to iCloud Storage Plans. For those of you on the $9.99 or 1TB plan, you are getting more storage at no extra cost.

Yes, Apple’s has increased the 1TB plan to a 2TB plan–meaning that for $9.99 a month you now get double the storage. For customers already enrolled in the 1TB plan, your service has been upgraded automatically and the extra storage os available from today. Apple is still offering $2.99 a month plan for 200GB and a $0.99 a month plan for 50GB.

Being that yesterday Apple announced that iCloud Storage Plans could be shared through iCloud Family Sharing, this storage upgrade comes as welcome addition. I have a feeling that while the free Storage Plan is only 5GB’s, it might get a small but needed update in the future.
