Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile have been expanding their lineups quite a bit this year and today LG is joining on that expansion. The LG Volt will be landing on both Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile on May 12. It will be the first high-speed Enhanced LTE-capable device for the two no-contract carriers. It is available today online from both carriers for $179.99. On Boost Mobile it will be available in Dark Blue, while Virgin Mobile gets it in White.
The LG Volt has some nice specifications and will need to them to compete against the incoming Galaxy S 5, which lands on May 19th for both carriers. It is running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box with several LG features including Knock Code, Knock On, QuickMemo, QSlide, Easy Mode, and many others. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor and has 1GB of internal storage. This seems quite low for an Android smartphone, but it can be expanded with a micro SD card slot. It has a 3,000mAh battery and a 4.7-inch IPS Display with Corning Gorilla Glass. For multimedia users, you will find an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 camera on the front.
