Earlier today, BlackBerry officially announced the Classic, a device that they have been teasing for most of the year. In fact it was put on pre-order earlier this year, before all was known about the device. With the official announcement of the device today, carriers began confirming they would get the device. Verizon took to twitter earlier this morning and confirmed they are getting the Classic in early 2015. They are calling out to the QWERTY fans out there, as this is the first device in quite sometime feature the full physical QWERTY keyboard that BlackBerry is known for. They have yet to announced any Verizon specific features for the device, but it will be on their lightning fast 4G LTE network. Like other carriers, exacting availability and pricing will be forth coming.
The BlackBerry Classic features a 3.5-inch with 294 dpi HD resolution and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is running the BlackBerry 10 operating system on board. You get 16GB of internal space with a micro SD card slot. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor with 2GB of RAM, and they are saying it should get 22 hours of battery life.
