Google has just made the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P official! That is right, we are getting two Nexus devices this year. The Nexus 6P is being made by Huawei and can be considered the successor to the Nexus 6. The device we all love is returning in an upgrade format, that is right the Nexus 5X is real and is being made by LG.
The Nexus 6P is being made by Huawei and features a full metal body, this is a first for the Nexus! The 6P features a large 5.7-inch WQHD AMOLED display, so this is the upgraded variant of the Nexus 6. It can be charged and synced with a USB-C port, the same one found on the new MacBook. The device also features front facing speakers, a 12.3 megapixel camera on the back, a 5 megapixel camera on the front, and is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Google is saying the Nexus 6P is there most premium device yet and it certainly is, especially with the full metal body.
To get more specific, the back camera on the 6P is a 12.3 megapixel lens that is made by Sony. It features more pixels which means better looking photos, plus it can take burst shots, 4K video, and slow-mo recording.
The Nexus 5X is made by LG and is similar to the Nexus 5, it has a 5.2-inch HD display and weighs in at just 136 grams. It is powered by a 64-bit processor which should make Android Marshmallow run incredibly well. You can get Nexus Imprint on the back, which is Google’s take on the fingerprint sensor. The 5X has a larger 2700mAh battery and will come in your choice of Sports White, Carbon Black, and Ice Blue.
Nexus Imprint is the first time that fingerprint recognition can be added to the entire Android eco system, it utilizes the built-in finger print sensor technologies in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. And similar to Touch ID on the iPhone in that it gets better over time, a difference here is that on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P the Nexus Imprint sensor is on the back of the device.
