Zolt is not just announcing a European traveler edition of their laptop charger plus solution at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show. They are also showing off a prototype USB Type-C charger, and yes it will charge USB C products out of the box.

The company is showing off this product at the perfect time, the new Nexus smartphones feature USB Type-C and are a precursor to the many devices choosing it as there charging port. Even better it will support the new, or rather somewhat new, 12-inch MacBook. By going with this Zolt product, you can cut the size of a regular Apple MagSafe adapter in half and still get the same power output.

Zolt’s USB Type-C charging solution is currently being prototyped and should be released at some point this year. The current prototype being shown off at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show features two USB ports and comes with a USB Type-C cord right in the box. This means you will be able to charge a USB Type-C device right out of the box. Zolt hopes that when their USB Type-C charging solution hits the market, that it will come with three USB ports on-board, meaning that it can charge three devices at once.
