Sling TV is making waves and today they are making a big change to there services. The company has just announced a multi-stream service and it is available today as a beta. Currently, it will only work with Fox content, including Fox broadcasting, local news, FX, AMC, A&E, and others. During the beta period it costs $20 and allows customers to stream on up to three devices at the same time.
The multi-stream service is in beta now and it works quite well, I had the chance to try it out on earlier today and the results were quite nice. Sling is offering a “Best of Live TV” beta multi-stream service which gives you over 30 channels, including local news. This local news channel will change as you travel and includes the corresponding regional sports network as well. Sports networks means you will have access to watch New York Yankees games, this is a big deal(at least in my opinion).
During the beta you will have access to 17 markets at no additional cost: Including Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte N.C., Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Gainesville, Fla., Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Pa., Phoenix, San Francisco, Tampa, Fla. and Washington D.C. This will include both live broadcasted content and video-on-demand content.
Not live during the beta, but once multi-stream fully launches, your Sling TV credentials will give you access to the FOX NOW, FXNOW, FOX Sports GO and Nat Geo TV applications.
