The 2018 Mobile World Congress is still a few days away, and we are expecting plenty of news, but LG is kicking off the show earlier. The technology giant is known for teasing large announcements and unveiling smaller items before these shows start. LG has just announced the 2018 models of the K8 and K10 smartphones.

You can expect both the K8 and K10 to begin their rollout in the coming months in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. A big change with the design would be the three new color options for either device:  Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, and Terra Gold. In addition to a new paint job, LG has upgraded the performance of these devices.

The LG K8 will feature a 5.0-inch HD 1280 X 720 display, a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor with 2GB of RAM, a removable 2,500mAh battery, Android 7.1.2 Nougat with an LG user interface, 16GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel front camera, and an 8-megapixel lens on the back. While the LG K10 packs a 5.3-inch HD 1280 X 720 display, 1.5 GHz Octa-Core processor with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, a non-removable 3,000mAh battery, Android 7.1.2 Nougat with an LG user interface, either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel or 5-megapixel front camera, and a 13-megapixel camera on the back.

Like with most mid-range smartphones that see a large rollout, some specifications and features can vary by region. A notable feature of the LG K10 would be the 13-megapixel back camera which was found on the LG G6 and packs with it Phase Detection Auto Focus. The cameras on both the K8 and K10 devices should not disappoint and represent a solid standard for a mid-range smartphone.
