Back at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung was truly a star of the show. From the new Galaxy Tabs, to the new appliances, and of course the future of televisions. The star of the show was the U9000 Series of Curved UHD TVs, as well as the new audio products. Now we have pricing and availability for Samsung’s 2014 Home Entertainment Lineup, so lets dive right in!

Samsung’s 2014 TV Lineup!

Lets start off with a field that Samsung is pioneering in, the Curved UHD TV’s. The curve screens not only provide an awesome presence in the room, but they provide a more immersive experience. No longer do you have the bad seats in the room, since the display is curved, your viewing angles become almost anywhere. Because of the curve you get a panoramic affect, that in return makes the screen seem even larger. UHD means Ultra High Definition, these screens are very sharp. You have four times the amount pixels you would ordinarily find in full HD. Whether your content is coming from a UHD source or a regular source, the TV will produce it in the best way possible. This is thanks to UHD Upscaling, which takes the regular content and makes it better and more immersive. This converts Full HD, HD and lower resolution sources to nearly-UHD clarity through a unique four-step process that includes signal analysis, noise reduction, upscaling and detail analysis. The TV supports all of the current standards and the ones coming in the future, this last part is made possible by Samsung UHD Evolution Kit. The televisions brains are housed in a box externally, so when you want to upgrade, simply upgrade the box.

Samsung believes that one TV does not fit all, thats why this year they are doubling their UHD lineup. It is not only filled with curved TV’s, but flat panel ones as well. First up we have the beautiful 105-inch Curved UHD TV, which I had the chance to see at the 2014 CES. This is one TV that is mind blowing in quality and design, even if you don’t plan on getting one, you have to see one of these things. This display boats a whopping 11 million pixels, and is coming in the second half of 2014!

The U9000 Curved UHD TV’s include a property technology that makes the images truly come to life, increasing detail and color. Essentially, the  Auto Depth Enhancer will give you the feeling of a 3D image without the glasses. These curved TV’s can be wall mounted out of the box as well, something that other manufactures have still not done. Starting in March a 55-inch model for $3,999.99 and 65-inch for $4,999.99, while a 78-inch model will be coming soon after.

Coming in the spring are the Samsung U8700 Curved UHD TV, which have a unique feature. Precision Black local dimming provides contrasts that become enhanced, while UHD Dimming perfects brightness. This will help to ensure the lifelike UHD quality not he display, plus the bezel of the TV is quite thin at 1.22-inches. The U8700 Curved UHD TV will be available in both 55-inch and 65-inch sizes.

For those of you looking for a UHD TV with Smart TV capabilities, the flat U8550 UHD TV might be for you. Like many other models in the UHD lineup you get the UHD Dimming technology, which aims to give you a crystal clear image. The U855o will be coming in March in quite a few sizes, those include a 55-inch model for $2,999.99 and a 65-inch model for $3,999.99. In May the U8550 will become available in 50-inch ($2,499.99), 60-inch ($3,499.99) and 75-inch ($5,999.99) sizes.

Samsung likes to spread the Curved technology around, they are also giving it’s LED lineup a revamp with a few new curved models. The first being the H8000 Series. This is an LED Smart TV that is curved, which means a wider field of view and stunning picture quality. The H800 Series is landing in the spring in a 55-inch model for $2,499.99 and a 65inch model for $3,399.99. While the 48-inch model will be release in May for $1,999.99.

You might be asking yourself, what UHD content is currently available? Well many content providers have begun working with Samsung in 2014 to make sure UHD content is available. They have begun working with Netflix, Amazon, Comcast, and Direct TV. For starters, they have the Samsung UHD Video Pack which includes 1 Terabyte of content. This video pack will be released in April for $299.99, but Samsung plans to release another video pack soon after. This first video pack will include blockbusters like Night At The Museum, The Counselor and X-Men Origins: Wolverine from 20th Century Fox as well as G.I. Joe: Retaliation and World War Z from Paramount Pictures, plus 3 documentaries.

Samsung’s 2014 Audio Lineup!

That is Samsung’s new TV lineup for 2014, next up we have their Audio lineup. Back in 2013 Samsung shook up the audio industry with the Shape Wireless Audio-Multiroom System. Which allowed you to easily create a wireless speaker system and have specific songs or channels playing in specific rooms. The Shape M7 speaker was announced back in 2013, for 2014 we have the smaller M5 speaker. It can be used in combination with other M5 or M7 units. Like the M7, it has easy setup and control via an application on your smartphone. It features WiFi, NFC, and Bluetooth all built right inside. If you want legacy audio equipment, like CD players, to send there music through the M5 or M7 speakers, you can use the Samsung Link Mate. The M5 speaker is available this Spring for $299.99 and the Samsung Link Mate for $349.99.

The new Samsung HW-H750 Soundbar is a powerful music and audio producer, that is paired with a wireless subwoofer. It can be hooked up into your Shape Wireless-Audio-Multiroom System, making it a great add on. It has a sleek metallic design that will pair with any television, it looks just as good as it sounds. It will be available in the available in the Spring for $799.99. If you are looking for a Sound Stand, I would check out the HW-H600 Soundbar which can wirelessly connect to select Samsung TVs. Not only does it provide sound, but it can be a stand for the TV. The Samsung HW-H600 will be available this month for $399.99.

Back at CES, I saw what might have been the coolest looking speakers. These were Samsung’s GIGA Systems and now we have pricing and availability on them. The MX-HS9000 features 15-inch woofers and can blow the roof off with 3400 watts of power. It has lightning effects and truly immersive and loud sound, which lets you become the DJ. With Bluetooth built-in you can manage you playlist from your smartphone and then stream it to the GIGA! The MX-HS900 will be available this Spring for $1,499.99. The MX-HS8500 GIGA System puts the main receiver into the speaker. This is the system for the person who wants to take it with them, as it has sturdy build and features wheels. It features 2500 watts of sound and a 15” woofers, beat lighting effects, and Bluetooth! It drops this Spring for $1,299.99.

Last but not least we have a new Blu-Ray player from Samsung that can be integrated with the Shape Multi Room System.BD-H6500 Blu-ray player has the UHD Upscale Technology built inside of it, meaning that your content will be produced to look even better, up to four times the resolution of 1080p. It will also be ready for the future and will not be a product that you have to retire when you upgrade you television. With SmartView 2.0 you can send images and videos to your TV from your smartphone. The Samsung BD-H6500 will be available in the Spring for $179.99.

Overall, Samsung has an amazing 2014 Home Entertainment Lineup. Filled with products that will enhance the industry and push them to keep creating the next big thing. My personal favorite would have to be the new Curved UHD TV’s, they will give you an extremely immersive experience with an amazing picture quality. Truly a screen that you will have to see to believe. The new audio lineup builds on the excitement of the Shape Multi Room System announced last year.
